We were so tired
Such a tiny baby!!

It's hard to see why in this shot, but if you look at the base of her back, you'll see that we think we know what Charlie is going to be when she grows up - a plumber! ha ha!

seriously, she'd be the cutest plumber EVER...

The nightime nurse's assistant on our last night at the hospital was this wonderful woman named Wanda. She is Polish, has lived in the U.S. for 20 years, is about 55, and the sweetest mother hen we'd ever met.

Wanda took Charlie to weigh her and check her out, and when she brought Charlie back, she was still fussing with this gauze bandage and some tape. We both figured she was giving Charlie another shot or something, and was prepping for it. Then suddenly, she bunched up the gauze and taped it in the middle to Charlie's hat and voila! the ridiculous bow as seen in this pic. Now mind you, it was the middle of the night and we thought it looked AWESOME. hee hee.

Wanda then folded the sheets all pretty and stood back to survey her work. She was so cute!!

After she was done fussing with Charlie, Wanda asked Liam if he knew that he had a fold-out bed next to mine. She told him she'd bring sheets for him. He'd slept in it the night before with no blankets, just a fitted sheet.

When she didn't return right away, Liam decided it was okay because he was exhausted. So we got ready for bed.

We'd just started to drift off when Wanda burst into the room. She stopped and asked, "You have something?" to which Liam responded, "something." She paused, then announced, "you have nothing!" and liam, resignedly, said "nothing." To which Wanda perked up and said, "i'll get you something!!" and dashed out of the room. It. Was. Hilarious.

She returned, made his bed, and then tucked him in. it was so so so cute.

We thought we'd take advantage of Wanda's bow and get some glamour shots...i was hoping if we made them black and white the bow wouldn't be so obviously medical gauze. I don't think it worked, but isn't Charlie precious anyway??!!
